Wiinja, the Nintendo’s Wii modchip, is not a concoction of Ninja and Wii, but rather with the chip installed (you have to solder 5 wires to install), you can play any Wii and GameCube backups directly. DVD +/- R are supported on any Wii console, whether the machine is from Japan, US or Europe.
